BANJARMASIN – LOKSADO – PALANGKARAYA – CRUISE 7DAYS/6NIGHTS

.1 Day:
Arrival to Banjarmasin - transfer to Mercure / Golden Tulip hotel (****)
After pick-up by your personal English speaking guide at the airport in Banjarmasin transfer to hotel Mercure this hotel directly in the area of Shopping center ( Duta mall ) or to Golden Tulip Hotel in front of Mercure Hotel , Whole afternoon free of leisure (no meals)

2. Day:
Floating market in Lokbaintan - Cempaka village / diamond mine - Martapura / gem grindery - Cahaya Bumi Selamat / shopping complex - Loksado – visit to Malaris Dayak Tribe –
Amandit river lodge  ( b,l,d )
Early in the morning you will be picked up from hotel, then start for a voyage on Martapura river in a traditional motor boat „klotok“. Visit to the floating market in Lokbaintan. Selling and shopping on the river is a purely women’s work and women protect themselves from sunshine by large hats called „tangguis“. Here you can take amazing photographs. Along the river you can observe native people during their daily activities. Return to Hotel for having breakfast, then chek out for continue the journey next approx. 40 km southeast from Banjarmasin to Cempaka village, where diamonds and gems have been found for centuries. Visit to one of these traditional mines. In Martapura, famous in all South-East Asia for its diamond, gems and gold market, visit of a gem grindery. In Martapura, visit to shopping complex Cahaya Bumi Selamat, possibility to buy some gems. Then your trip continues next 125 km (approx. 3 hours) north-east to province of Hulu Sungai Selatan. Stop in Kandangan, province central town for lunch. Around 16.30 you should reach to small mountain town Loksado, located in the Meratus mountain region. Afernoon check in to MERATUS RESORT  at LOKSADO village. Dinner at lodge

3. Day;
Loksado – Malaris Long hosue – Negara Village – Loksado ( b,l,d )
After breakfast in the hotel drive by car to Loksado approx. 20 minutes trekking to Dayak Malaris tribe, passing by traditional hanging bridges. Here you will visit a traditional “long house” and possible meet the local people, you can see how the daily life for making handicraft, and others activities. Then walking to Loksado village, to see directly the life of the people, then drive to Negara village. Here tou can visit some places to see re-cycling home industries which are many in Negara and that is why Negara is called KOTA DAUR ULANG ( = the twon of re-cycling ), you can see the people do their job to preduce various kind of goods made of unused materials. Afternoon return to amandit river lodge for accommodation.
4.. Day:
Loksado - rafting on a bamboo float on Amandit River - Banjarmasin – Palangkaraya ( b,l,d )
After breakfast in the hotel start for a sensational voyage on Amandit River on a traditional bamboo float! This is one of the highlights of this roundtrip! Bamboo floats were traditionally built by Dayak tribes for travelling to the market in the province town in order to sell their goods and then they disassembled their floats and sold also the bamboo and walked back to their village – a several days walk through the jungle. Your float will be made especially for you and for this occasion. The voyage takes around 2 hours, is absolutely safe and opens spectacular views in the tropical nature. These floats are called “lanting” and are operated by experienced local pilots. After this extraordinary experience, you can change your possible wet clothes before a shorter drive brings you to Banjarmasin (175 km) and further to Palangkaraya. At around 20.00 o’clock check-in in Aquarius Hotel, in the town. (breakfast, lunch, dinner included)

5.Day :             
Palangkaraya – River Cruise by Rahai’i Pangun ( b,l,d )
After breakfast at Hotel pick up by your guide  and transfer to the Rahai’i Pangun in Palangkaraya harbor to start your journey. Cruise past the stilted and floating houses of the provincial capital and continue upriver along the jungle lined river, passing villages and observe orang utan in Hampapak Island, orangutan pre released island.  In the early evening, take a canoe through the shimmering black water lakes. Keep an eye out for proboscis monkeys, hornbills, red langurs and Brahmini kites. Return to the Rahai’i Pangun for dinner and a quiet dinner in the midst of the jungle. ( note : The starting of the cruise depending of the ship where the ship last day  was stop, this program can be changed without to skip the objects)

6.Day :  MARANG – KANARAKAN ( b,l,d )
The Rahai’i Pangun moves up the Rungan River, passing the village of Tangkiling and the orangutan release island of Pulau Kaja, to Kanarakan village. Walk through the village with a local host to see how people live and work in these isolated communities. Enjoy a traditional village entertainment.
Canoe ride in lakes and return to Haouseboat for overnight near the village.

7.Day :   KANARAKAN – TANGKILING – DEPARTURE
Early in the morning your houseboat  makes its way down stream, to Tangkiling.Village, then transfer to the airport for your next destination, breakfast at houseboat. TOUR END

Note : The cruise in Kahayan river Palangkaraya is better during rainy season, on dry season the sailing is not so exciting like on rainy season.
