1. DAY:

BALIKPAPAN – SAMBOJA ( D )

After arrival at the airport of Balikpapan you will have a transfer to Samboja Lodge, which takes around 1hour. Dinner and overnight at Samboja Lodge. (Dinner incl.)

2. DAY:

TREKKING – BUKIT BANGKIRAI ( B / L / D )

After the breakfast you will start the trekking tour through the jungle to the fruit plant ages which ensure the food of Orang Utans. You can watch them near the lodge where also other animals could be seen like the Borneo sun bear. This area is secured only for the Orang Utan Survival Foundation which was founded in 1992. Today at Samboja Lodge live around 210 Orang Utans, which are divided in 6 different areas around the lodge. (After the lunch you will continue to Bukit Bangkirai where you will find the hanging bridges and after this you can watch other several kinds of monkeys at Black River. In the late afternoon return to Samboja Lodge. (breakfast, lunch and dinner incl.)

3. DAY:

SAMBOJA LODGE – SUNGAI WAIN (RIVER) ( B / L / D )

After the breakfast you will go by car around 1hour to Sungai Wain River and start from there your 4hours trekking tour through the jungle to see plants and animals of this area and also the meat eating plants of the jungle. This area was declared as a Nature Reserve in 1938. It is an authentic jungle which is home for animals like Orang Utans, sun-bears and other kind of monkeys and hundreds of several birds. After this unique experience you will return to Samboja Lodge. Dinner and overnight at the lodge. (breakfast, lunch and dinner incl.)

4. DAY:

SAMBOJA – BALIKPAPAN ( B )

After the trekking-tour in the early morning to the feeding of the orang-utans you will return to have a breakfast. After check-out transfer to the airport of Balikpapan. (Breakfast incl.)
